Biography
Michael Sileno, Owner and President
Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved with his family to Goldsboro, North Carolina at the age of 10. This drastic change in culture and society exposed him to a diverse way of life. He comes from a large family that taught him the importance of self-sufficiency, hard work, community, and family. Michael held many jobs starting at a young age in various industries and workplace environments. Numerous mentors influenced his decision to become an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. The many life lessons Michael learned helped shape him into the motivated, caring, understanding, and accessible person he is today.
He obtained a B.A. degree from NC State University and a M.A. degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He is a proud member of both alumni associations. During his time at both schools he was the recipient of many awards and high honors such as graduating Summa Cum Laude, scholarships, assistantships, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Gamma Beta Phi, Alpha Kappa Delta, Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma. He is also published in The Mythical West by Dr. Richard Slatta and once was quoted in the New York Times. Michael won the 2011 CompTIA Get IT Video Contest. Please check out the official press release and video.
In his spare time, Michael is a Big Brother volunteer and an advisory board member at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Greensboro. He won the Outstanding Mentor of the Year award in 2009 and 2010. He also serves on the board for the Organization to Provide Equal Access to Technology (OPEAT).
